Made in China helps the world
2021-05-28
Recently, the medical protection materials in various countries are in urgent need of supplies. At the same time, as one of the world's largest producers of medical supplies, China has also acted quickly to accelerate the completion of capacity breakthroughs. As the world's largest mask producer, China's exports of masks account for nearly 50 percent of the supply in the overseas market, with the United States relying on China for 90 percent of the masks. The U.S. also plans to rapidly expand U.S. production of masks and protective clothing, only to find that many of the raw materials are still needed in the Chinese market. U.S. health officials point out that many of the raw materials used to make the products are supplied by the Chinese market. China is the world's largest producer and consumer of non-woven fabrics. Driven by this outbreak, the growth of non-woven fabrics is bound to exceed previous estimates. There are few mask factories in the United States, where 90 percent of masks are imported from China, and there are chronic shortages of protective materials such as gloves, protective clothing and goggles. According to reports from Japanese media, nearly all of the masks on the domestic market in Japan are out of stock as the outbreak of Novel coronavirus pneumonia continues to spread. By mid-january, Japanese mask makers had about 1.8 billion in stock, according to the Japan mask industry association, but by early February they had largely sold out. About 70 percent of the masks in circulation in Japan are imported from overseas.
